If you haven’t heard via Benny’s Twitter, The Dares will be playing a show in Anaheim with the one and only Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. To make the show extra special, they’ll be doing it acoustic. If you are in the area, make sure to come out. Click here for more info.
The Dares are part of Taco Bell’s “Feed the Beat” virtual music festival, alongside a bunch of other touring bands, the guys get free taco bell, and a feature spot on Taco Bell’s “Feed The Beat” virtual music festival. Check out Feedthebeat.com for more info!
Seems like yesterday that the guys were on tour with Cartel..ok, it kind of was yesterday. Anyway, if you saw them, send in your pictures! If you didn’t see them (or even if you did), check out this look at the tour from the guys directly.
We literally drove straight from Atlanta to LA the day after the last show. A total of 38 hours. So exhausting. We ran into heavy rain and winds... and even SNOW. It was a pretty scenic drive with all sorts of different views. The van pretty much smelled like crap after being occupied by 5 sweaty and unshowered guys for so long. I'm pretty sure the driver's seat has an ass imprint that is a combined shape of all of our buns..
I never would have expected it to rain every single day we would be in Texas... :( what a bummer. Last night we played the outdoor stage at Emo's in Austin and I'm pretty sure that because there was not one warm place to sit or stand the whole night, I got sick. I went to bed with a light fever and woke up feeling delirious and even more sick. Aside from wetness and coldness, the show went really well. Met a lot of cool people and got to walk around the legendary downtown Austin, the one place in Texas where you would never think you were in Texas.
I'm sitting outside of a Holiday Inn Express outside of Austin TX right now. We're not staying here, only stealing their internet. We spent all night driving here and now all I can ask for is a shower... not even a bed, just a shower. I'm looking forward to tonight's show though. I love playing at Emo's, it's always a fun crowd.
After their show in frozen Portland, the guys took some time to do this interview and talk about their tourmates, their soon-to-be-released album, and the awkwardness of suddenly hitting puberty onstage. Check it out below!
Last night we played our first sold out show at Chain Reaction. Yes, it ruled. ...and YES, it had been waiting to cross that off my list of things to do before I die since the day I even knew what Chain Reaction was. The topping on the cake was coming home to my own bed after that show. I slept in super late and woke up to a home made breakfast. Thats just how I roll when I pass through home<3
Tonights the Troubadour show in LA and once again, I get to come home after. Let's see if tonight can top last night.. hmm....
Martin
Right now I'm sitting in the dressing room at slims with The Summer Set. Apparently the wifi is broken and I'm gonna have to send this off from the Hotel. The drive in to San Francisco today was super easy and had a lot of sweet views. When we were pulling up to the venue, some girl actually said "Hey Martin!" and I was just stunned that someone that lives more than 5 miles away from my city would actually know my name. That kind of stuff is cool.
I know tonights show is going to be sick. I love San Francisco and I love the crepe I'm going to devour after the show...
